Carson, other GOP candidates top Clinton in latest national poll

Hillary tries to position herself between voters and Sanders

A new national poll shows nearly every major Republican candidate beating Hillary Clinton in a hypothetical general election -- and shows Ben Carson leading by a resounding 10-point margin.

The Quinnipiac University Poll was taken after last week's GOP presidential debate. In head-to-head match-ups with leading GOP candidates, Clinton only edges out Donald Trump.

But the survey showed Carson, the retired neurosurgeon who has been trading the lead with Trump in GOP primary polls, with a 50-40 percent lead over the Democratic front-runner.

According to Quinnipiac, Clinton's lead among women "evaporates" when she's pitted against Carson. Women break for him over Clinton, 45-44 percent.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio also beats Clinton, 46-41 percent; Texas Sen. Ted Cruz beats her 46-43 percent; and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie beats her 46-41 percent.

Clinton still leads Trump, 46-43 percent.

Clinton appears to be hurt in part by her public image, with the poll showing 52 percent have a negative view of her, versus 42 percent with a favorable view.

"[A]t the moment Dr. Ben Carson is delivering a troubling diagnosis to Secretary Hillary Clinton," Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in a statement. "Clinton gets crushed on character issues, pounded by Carson and closely challenged by Sen. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump and Sen. Marco Rubio."

The poll also shows more voters have a negative than positive view of Trump, as well as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

As for Quinnipiac's primary polling, it shows the races in a similar state. Clinton easily beats Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on the Democratic side. And on the GOP side, Trump narrowly edges Carson, 24-23 percent.

Rubio and Cruz clock in next at 14 and 13 percent, respectively.

The poll of 1,144 registered voters was taken Oct. 29-Nov. 2. It had a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points.

the guy who's winning be the only one losing against Hillary? do we need anything else to convince us Trump is the right guy?

she'll survive anything with the state run media as her running mate. she has been anointed and next in line. the only way to get rid of her was in the primary but biden fucked that idea all up.

On her own merit or with just a mediocre VP candidate, don't you think Trump could beat her? He has as much on her as she can make up on him. She can only win with major voter fraud the democrats are known for.

Now, if she gets Julian Castro as her VP, that is a concern.

the media is her running mate, they protect her against all comers and attack her opponent....it will be even worse in the general election when its just her and the repub. when the media anoints their candidate, all bets are off. its just like when the media anointed obongo over the cunt, nothing she could do.

You are so right about all of that, but Romney could have won over obama in the 2nd term (he and his policies were very unpopular) except for a few things:
    1. He thought he was anointed and would not go on any talk radio. He avoided much of the press and would not get in the presses' faces like Trump does and will. Romney was quiet when Harry Reid said he hadn't paid his taxes in 10 years. Can you imagine if Reid said anything about Trump???
    2. Bill Clinton stumped for obama with the promise that he would do the same for Hillary, and it doesn't look like he is. (that may be in her favor at this point.)
    3. Chris Christie giving him hugs over the New Jersey rain storm.

Trump will not take any shit from her camp - Cruz would not either. Neither of them are afraid of the press and answering questions.

I know trump and cruz wont take any shit, but it will be an entire barrage from the media against hillarys opponent and and and and, they will ignore, not report anything against their anointed one....nothing new, its just any repub has an uphill battle constantly fighting the mainstream  media every day. the media is the dems shitshield & true running mate.

These pollls at this stage have no value. They could poll using Michael Hunt vs Clinton, and she'd lose at this point. People are still impressed with the shiney new toy. She's also not getting nearly the attention of the GOP. Same goes for Sanders, he's losing in the poll too

That again, could have been more true in the past. People get their news from so many sources these days. So far, everyone seems to want Trump and to interview him where ever he goes. I have seem much on Ted Cruz too, but the media does not follow him around as they do Trump. I see more of Ted Cruz on http://conservatives4tedcruz.blogspot.com/ , but he will go on that witch Megan Kelly very often. She is so nasty to him and yet he just goes for it. I really admire him.

Also, on our side (I assume you are not a hillary fan), is that she gets less popular the more people hear her.

maybe, but its a liberal ideal to blame others for your own failure.
reagan and GW never lost any election ever. (reagan also showed u dont need to be liberal to get liberal votes)

and romney didnt lose cause he didnt get lib votes, he lost cause he couldnt get conservative votes

True, I didn't vote for Pres. last election because I couldn't vote for a guy that spent years shipping middle class jobs overseas in the name of restructuring and who wears magic underwear.
