The idea that any one man can "suspend" laws on a whim is scary.

The police union president asked Kasich for the suspension of open carry. Maybe that is what you are thinking of.

if I thought I needed it I would do the conceal carry deal
the open one I'd be too concerned with being stopped every 45 minutes by a police officer
it seems like a bigger hassle

I watched an interview with the Cleveland Chief of Police yesterday and when he was asked about open carry, he said words to the effect of "I would prefer they didn't, but it is the law of the land here."

I was an Obama voter but I'm really moving towards the middle lately.

Can't see the reason not to allow open carry all over, it keeps people much safer. With that shit in France and the BLM police killings.....not to mention how Trump enrages the Latinos - this is like the biggest target for attack in the last 10 years in America. it will be MUCH safer if the Republican people can defend themselves.

Military assault weapons should be banned but I don't see why hand guns are so hated.

Behind every blade of grass there should be a gun. More guns equal more safety for all. Open and carry laws ensure a level playing field for everybody. More guns always equals more safety...especially for any children around. Behind every blade of grass there should be a gun.

How did open carry in Texas have an effect in Dallas, from what I read, everyone with gun ran away from the gunfire

Trump will be in head to toe Kevlar, at least they don't have to worry about a brain injury.

With respect to Dallas, many law enforcement people said that open carry confused the issue somewhat, since the officers could only see guns, not whether they were "good" ones or not.

Sucks that the other side is so bitter that the Republicans have to arm themselves.

I'm not like some gun nut that says it's a cure all; bad things will happen with guns around. It's about an even playing field. If someone is coming at you trying to kill you with a weapon you should have the ability to fight back. A lot of times you will fail, a lot of times the legal gun owner will be the criminal, but at least everyone is on the same level.

Also, the Dallas thing was the a bunch of people against the police. So either they thought that the police were shooting at them (run away) or the police were getting shot (this is crazy, I'm out of here). No one in that crowd was looking to team up with the cops in a firefight.
