with warren haynes also
quite the jams
Never understood the Grateful Dead. Maybe I was never high enough to appreciate the endless meandering jamming, and listening to Carlos Santana torturing a guitar just isn't my cup of tea...
touch of grey
I did like that song
I just found this old Santana concert, it is great! The music is tight, and well played, probably when they were at their best! The sound recording is excellent too!
Jefferson Airplane on now
As far as the Dead goes high has nothing to with it,maybe you're just not intelligent enough to get it.Judging by your statement I would guess that is the case.
todays LIVE schedule
Some ok songs when Pigpen was in the band but 99% of it is like watching paint dry.
Said like a true metal head!
Totally. But I'm definitely not against "jam bands". I love the Black Crowes, Allmans, Govt Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band. I saw the Dead a couple of times in the early 90's, kind of a manadatory experience for any teenage stoner in San Francisco. I think Workingman's Dead and American Beauty are great albums but for the most part the band never rocked enough for me.
Mule on now LIVE
Not quite sure how you equate intelligence and music appreciation, my statement was pretty clear: the artists in question just don't float my boat. Perhaps if YOU were somewhat less of a dim bulb you'd understand that every genre of music is not to everyone's taste.
For example my favorite band is Rush. There are many here who would be quick to hurl copious amounts of abuse my way for that selection, and it's all good. I wouldn't label them as "unintelligent" for not agreeing with my choice.
Perhaps next time you should consider what you say more carefully.
I refuse to listen to anything Warren Haynes is involved in. I DESPISE his playing and voice. and the only thing of substance Dead related since Jerry died was Weir and The National at Terrapin Crossroads.
Jimmy Cliff and Panic was pretty fucking smooth.
I mentioned your lack of intelligence for implying that you had to take some sort of drugs to enjoy the Grateful Dead's music and to call something endless and meandering because it is not to your liking.I genuinely don't give a fuck what people think about what I like or don't like, but it is tiresome to have people perpetuate ill informed and incorrect perceptions of an artists work.
