I love documentaries. No matter on what, I find most interesting to watch. There were three I watched recently on Netflix. If anyone has good ones they have seen lately, list them. ;)

Narco Cultura- About drug enforcement in Juarez, Mexico. The constant drug murders and the extreme danger the enforcement and crime scene officers have to deal with every day. It's shocking that they continue to do their job with the danger they are in.

$chooled- Awesome documentary on the insane rise of college sports and how it's basically the major sports in the US now. Shows the billions the schools take in every year off the students and the extreme hypocrisy of the NCAA. Goes into the mistreating and free labor of students started by the simple practice of labeling them "student athletes".

Bigger, Stronger, Faster- Documentary on steroid use in America. The rise and constant use. Film takes a look at both sides, although it feels a bit like a pro steroid doc. I like the brothers aspect of it and how it shows how sports/entertinament is riddled with them. Well that I knew before the doc being in sports but it really shows in order to compete, make the money, be famous, etc, many guys juice and they are almost always ahead of the testing.

On Netflix Instant. Brutal, chilling shit. Sadistic Indonesian Commies reenact murders they've committed and laugh and boast about it as they do.

I appreciate this thread because an internet search of "great documentaries" turns up the same 15 films. I liked Hoop Dreams and all but give me a fuckin break:hat:

    Also on Netflix.

This is about Jiro, a highly acclaimed Tokyo chef and how seriously he and his middle-aged son take the art. It doesn't sound like it'd be all that fascinating, but when you see the dedication and discipline that goes into this shit, you'll be amazed.

What these kids go through on their own to come to America is pretty amazing. They just want to work.

Frontline has some great documentaries. My favorite, by far, is the World at War narrated by Lawrence Oliver. If you're into WW2 it doesn't get any better than this.

Gasland - a documentary about the bad effects on local residents due to the 'fracking' practice of drilling by oil/gas companies. there's also a sequel which is available on HBO but I'm not sure about Netflix.

    Just watched this on Netflix

If you know metal, you might know Pentagram, which never got famous but played some kick ass music. It's about Bobby Liebling the only guy left from the original band, and his attempts to kick drugs and get his career started again. Pretty good.

Watched Lemmy as well, and that was kick ass! Motorhead rules.
