Not one but two group assaults last night. One a momma send a group of 7 after a homeless man and the other a group of female yoofs attack someone for disrespecting them by telling them to be quiet during the movie.

Police looking for more suspects in vicious beating of homeless man

The 10-year-old boy told his mother the homeless man at the gas station had hit him.

They were both at the Sunoco station at 5338 N. Fifth St. in Olney on Tuesday, offering to pump patrons' gas for spare change. They argued over who would pump gas next.

Investigators, reviewing hours of footage from the station, said there was no evidence the 51-year-old man ever hit the boy.

But the boy's mother needed only his word.

Cops: Story leads mom, friends to beat man
That evening, she and friends and family members - up to seven of them - pulled up at the station in a friend's minivan and spilled out with Mace, a hammer, and a rocking chair leg in hand, police say.

Video from the station captured the brutal, agonizingly prolonged beating that followed and that left the 51-year-old victim near death in a medically induced coma.

And as the man lay unconscious and bleeding on the ground, one of the women in the van pulled the boy back toward the man to show him: This is what we did for you.

"Just watching, you see the viciousness of it," said Lt. Dan Brooks of Northwest Detectives.

Footage from the station's surveillance camera shows the group running from the minivan toward the victim, with the boy's mother, 34-year-old Aleathea Gillard, swinging the rocking chair leg, police said. A close family friend, Shareena Joachim, 24, carried the Mace, they say.

Joachim was the first to reach the man as he stood by the door of the station's convenience store. She tried to spray the Mace in his eyes - but missed, hitting someone in her group instead, police said.

As she backed off, Gillard and others moved in.

Gillard swung the chair leg into the victim's head and face, hitting him over and over, until the chair leg broke over his head, police said. One woman beat the victim with what police believe is a hammer. Two juveniles, police said, stomped and kicked him in the head.

As the group pulled back, Joachim pulled the boy by his red-and-yellow jacket toward the victim, let him look, and then ushered him back into the van before it pulled away.

Police found the minivan outside Einstein Medical Center - where the victim had been taken - shortly after the attack, with Gillard, 34, and Joachim, 26, inside. They were arrested and charged with attempted murder and related crimes. Both gave statements to police, Brooks said.

Police are still searching for three other people seen in the video: the woman with the hammer, and the juveniles who kicked and stomped on the victim.

The victim remained in a medically induced coma Friday with multiple skull fractures and other broken bones, police said.

Police on Friday released the video; it can be seen at philly.com/assaultvideo.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Northwest Detectives at 215-686-3353.

A Stroudsburg, Pa., woman suffered a broken eye socket and bruises during the attack, which took place in a local movie theater of all places. And why did the group of teen girls allegedly pounce on victim Cindy Santamaria-Williams?

She tells WNEP-TV, which broke the story, that she 'shushed' them for being "loud and cursing."

Worse, the attack didn't occur during the heat of the moment inside the theater. The woman tells WNEP that the girls jumped her after the film let out:

"They immediately jumped on me and knocked me to the ground, punched me in the face," she said, adding that the original girls were waiting with five other teens.

She tells WNEP that she hopes someone will come forward to help police catch the young suspects:

"They were in my face. Their face is in my head. If I see them again or in a line up, I know exactly who they are," Santamaria-Williams said.

Stroud Area Regional Police Chief William Parrish says authorities are looking at video from the mall.

No word on what the movie was that started all this.

Check out WNEP's video report on the case right here.

So would you fear asking others to be quiet during movies due to the violent reaction in this case?

Sisters viciously beaten in Trenton park

    Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Video shows the vicious beating of two sisters by a crowd in Trenton's Greg Grant Park.

The video of the brutal assaults on Destiny Cooke, 16, and Lajahia Cooke, 17, has been shared on several Facebook pages.

The sisters were allegedly “play fighting” with friends.

People nearby misinterpreted the fight, left the scene, and came back with a crowd of people to join in.

The riot ended up including adults.

As the bystanders were encouraging the fight, Lajahia, the older sister, went to defend her sister but got swept up and beaten instead.

During the brawl, Destiny Cooke lost a chunk of her hair leaving a bald spot and Lajahia Cooke was struck in the right ear with a brick. The wound required 15 stiches.

Destiny Cooke explained how she attempted to call for help, “I called my mom and I'm like well can you come get us because there's like grown women here and like they're waking up to us and as I'm talking to her got hit and like my phone fell and I just had to defend myself."

The Cooke sisters claim that Trenton police officers were parked nearby but took no action.

The mother of the teens, Laronda Cooke, said that she is outraged.

“I'm angry with the Trenton police department. You should have cleared that park out because that is a public park. You should have told everybody that they had to leave that park that you would have found my kids in the back of that park bleeding,” she stated.

The Mayor of Trenton, Eric Jackson, released a statement about the brawl.

It stated: “…and personally I grief about those individuals with the brutal attack on the two young ladies, the Cooke sisters, and I am angry by the lack of the Samaritans who should of stepped forward to come to the aid of these victims.”

Mayor Jackson has hired a park ranger to monitor the park.

Captain Eddie Gonzalez from the Trenton Police Department also released a statement.

It stated: “Saying people were outraged at the video is an understatement, to be quite frank with you it's sickening. We've been able to identify a number of individuals that were a part of this and we will take swift action with them very, very shortly. Warrants will be issued in the very near future."

Anyone involved in the brawl could face simple assault and aggravated assault due to the brick attack. Bystanders could be charged with inciting a riot.

BTW .. I'm pretty sure you mean to say "guess the race" ... saying "guess who" is not a very good way to incite racial shit.

Sad to see that the disintegration of common civility has become so commonplace that it's almost expected as "inevitable."

And this is why you should continue to invest in land in outer-reaching "exurbs" of large metro areas.. cuz no daily commute is too long to keep one's family out of harm's way.

Interesting how they don't mention the race of either the victim or attackers when the media isn't trying to worsen race relations.
