...i tried to tell the nay sayers. this guy is the new teflon don. they wont be convicting him of any murder either.

Louisiana prosecutors on Thursday dropped gun and drug charges against Robert Durst, the real estate heir facing murder charges in Los Angeles, after his arrest under an assumed name in a New Orleans hotel last month.

While executing a search warrant for a cold case homicide from LA, investigators in New Orleans claimed to have found Durst with a .38 caliber revolver, five ounces of marijuana, a latex mask, $42,000 in cash and a fake Texas ID, USA Today and the Los Angeles Times reported.

The decision by Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro's office to drop the Louisiana charges begins disentangling the web of recent allegations that have snared Durst, 71, according to The Times-Picayune.

Durst's arrest on March 15 in a New Orleans hotel room came as a...

He's not off the hook yet. He still faces the federal gun charges.

    http://nypost.com/2015/04/24/robert-dursts-gun-charges-are-now-a-federal-case/

So “it makes sense to try this case in federal court because FBI agents arrested Mr. Durst, and there shouldn’t be two prosecutions, state and federal, at the same time for the same crime,” the New York realty scion’s attorney, Dick DeGuerin, said in an email.

he has enough money to buy everyone off. he murdered two people that we know of, there are plenty more that are unsolved which he's probably committed.

if only someone would kidnap then torture him.

I was listening to one of the lawyers who'd gone after him in Westchester w/ Pirro on an interview with Ron Bennington. He was saying that DeGuerin is smart and will try anything to avoid that federal gun charge and get to LA to create another circus/OJ case which might get him off.

The federal gun charge is extremely simple to prove, relatively speaking, will carry a 10 year mandatory minimum and because it's fed he'd do at least 8.5. That lawyer, who gave a great interview said they should push for this fed charge because they can get him off the street for 8.5 years and hopefully he's dead before that sentence ends. Letting DeGuerin get him to LA would be bad.

This is an example of the flaws in our best in the world justice system. I know, I know, it's the best and fairest blah blah. But reality is justice is different for different people in different places. And you don't stand a chance if you don't have a good lawyer. And Jurors are so fucked up they expect to see a CSI video at every trial. How does a guy get off from dismembering his neighbor??

Federal Gun charges are a bitch to beat.... That is why the state agreed to drop them... I was in prison with a ton of guys on Federal Gun Charges... Look up the Federal Conviction Rates for Gun Offenses compared to that of the the state of LA... I am rooting for the guy, but he has a tough fight against the Feds... Sayin...
