Sad, just sad. You never want it to happen anywhere, but de Blasio is losing control of the city. Pretty soon it'll be like it was in the early 90's.

Construction guys don't buy from Home Depot though. They deal with distributors.

However, I can see them selling paint, fixtures, etc. for people fixing up their own places. Fair enough.

Just ironic, because everyone touts the need for neighborhood stores instead of the "big box" ones in NYC yet here's one in all places, Chelsea.

It's trendy for big box stores to have a flagship store in Manhattan.

I walk by that Home Depot all the time. There are always construction vans double parked in front of it.

Thanks for that value-added post, you're living up to your forum name. Care to elaborate or correct me? Maybe we're thinking about something different. I'm not talking about the general contractor guy that does renovation, I'm talking about the guy who builds a whole new building. But if I'm wrong, I'll admit it.

I stand corrected then. I see them at other HD's as well, but they're usually the small contractor type, not a big construction company. My Father in Law was Local 2 and he bought electrical from wholesalers because they could beat the store prices any day - but he did corporate work, not fixer uppers.

Sounds like the Jamaican employee probably felt "disrespected' by his supervisor and got his revenge on him.
I go to different Home Depots a few times a week and I get the feeling that the people there don't really enjoy their jobs.
On the plus side they allow you to bring your dog in now and I have not seen one shit on the floor yet. :cheer:

Guns are illegal in Manhattan, essentially, so this story can't be true.

Why are people making up stories about things that aren't true?

Yeah, I mean small contractors doing renovations and whatnot. I only see something like 30 floor buildings going up, as far as a building being built from scratch goes, and they're not going to Home Depot.
