I watched Maleficent tonight and it was surprisingly good. It was so good that by the end I was wondering if they were going to make a sequel. (They are.)

And that got me to wondering about guys watching movies who's target audience is girls and girls watching movies who's target audience is guys.

Some of the chick flicks I like:

    Maleficent (2014)
A vengeful fairy (Angelina Jolie) curses an infant princess.

    The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
Anne Hathaway lands a job as an assistant to Meryl Streep, the demanding editor-in-chief of a high fashion magazine.

    The Holiday (2006)
Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz swap homes for Christmas, where they each meet a local guy and fall in love.

    Leap Year (2010)
Amy Adams travels to Dublin, Ireland to propose marriage to her boyfriend on Leap Day.

    While You Were Sleeping (1995)
Sandra Bullock pretends to be engaged to an unconscious man and gets "adopted" by his family.

    Notting Hill (1999)
The life of a simple bookshop owner (Hugh Grant) changes when he meets the most famous film star in the world (Julia Roberts.)

And I was big into Ten Things I Hate About You back in the day, good Shakespeare appropriation.

I also liked Silver Linings Playbook. If Boogie Nights is a chick flick I liked that too.
