The woman said her 37-year-old husband's indifference to her pain led her to take his hunting knife and place it under her pillow, according to a probable cause affidavit. The couple have been married for five years. She had recently been diagnosed with a medical condition that causes pain during sexual intercourse, but her husband ignored her discomfort, the court document said. She stabbed him Monday when the pain became too much, the affidavit said. Douglas County sheriff's deputies responded to the couple's home about 11:40 p.m. Andrea R. Drennan, 33, told them that she wasn't planning to kill her husband, but wanted to "show that he could not hurt me anymore," the affidavit said. She said she wished she had hit him with a flashlight or other hard object instead, but she feared he would have attacked her. Drennan was booked into the Douglas County Jail on an accusation of first-degree assault. -- Everton Bailey Jr. Discuss. I vote guilty.
