He hitched his humorless, insipid, martian wagon to a huckster, flimflam con-man - to hold on for deal life to the easiest job in all of radio - and then got Buchwalded of all integrity. (if he ever had any in the first place??)

Much like the others still on the HSS - doesn't have a single skill that translates outside of the infrastructure of the HSS. And without it - would be that depressingly dull dinosaur rock DJ you hear on a weekend afternoon playing the same tired 30 Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Eagles, AC/DC, The Who, Eric Clapton, The Doors, Van Halen etc etc on a loop that makes you want to drive off the Robert Moses Bridge.

I never got why people loved Fred so much. A "genius" at sound drops?? Talk about an easy job. Never could take ball busting. Never seemed to posses a sense of humor. Howard held onto him because he's a comfort from days past and in the end always sucks up.

I think it was Colin Quinn that called Fred - "A retarded Gary Oldman."

If you read my post above - I'm with you 100%. He's another guy (just like Sal and Richard) that desperate and frustrated scorned ex HSS fans cling to as some hope the old show will return or somehow Fred is one of us. Just because he barely speaks - doesn't mean he's under protest.

He's not - he's pure Buchwald and one of them. For someone on the show as long as he's been - his historical HSS moments for me are very few. And the only ones I like are where he gets teased, but he can't take even the slightest ball-busting, so those days are long over.

His only discernible skill was right time right place. That's it. And win freds money. I always liked that segment.

@The Jackie chair & @Benjamen think he spends entire HSSs just managing "King Norris" and updating their Facebook page - while he lazily tells Howard he MAY have to break, so he can play a 10 minute Led Zeppelin song and a fake Sal/Richard FCC illegal prank call.
