would have been 84 today!
I love this....sad but so good.....
Happy almost birthday funnyman
Thank you, there is one less man in Reno because of you.
Two of my very favorites!
I grew up with Johnny Cash! He was my dad's favorite!
My father's favorite, too--well, Cash and Sinatra.
When Dad died, one of our old family friends said she'll never forget him driving us to ski in NH at like, 6 in the morning, and everybody was all sleepy while he was singing away to Johnny Cash. That's a good memory.
cheers to the greatest musician born on this day..
RIP funny man.
Wow, you hosers sure have bizarre taste in music!!
My dad was a country boy, there was no Sinatra in his collection. At Folsom Prison and At San Quentin both came out when I was little and I memorized both albums. I got turned on to Waylon Jenning by hearing Brown Eyed Handsome Man and I'm a Ramblin' Man on the radio. By the time dad died I had him convinced that Waylon had the better voice. Dad didn't get it when I became a heavy metal guy in high school. Now I love both.
Kris is also great!
By the end of their lives people like Johnny and Waylon were more embraced by the rock community than the fags in the new country community, which seems fitting.
It does touch something deep in me. Powerful performance
