    For those of you who don't know. June 19th is celebrated each year as the day that slaves in Texas were set free. The fact that it happened 2 1/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation doesn't seem to bother anyone.

    Those sneaky Texas slave owners.

    I never heard about Juneteenth once when I was growing up. It's only in the last fifteen years or so that it has gotten traction. Kinda like Kwanzaa.
