I pay a little extra throughout the year that I won't miss to make sure I get a refund. The big chunk hurts more.

Our healthcare costs have skyrocketed under Obamacare so I didn't owe much, I guess I'd rather pay health care people than the government, at least they work for a living. I did have to pay the big property tax bill last week to support our failing schools.

Yeah - we had a ton of changes (good ones) in late Fall 2014... so all our planning ahead with our tax person went to shit.

    Such is life... :)

I owed an additional $2,500, which I paid via credit card through Turbo Tax. I always manipulate my withholding to owe some money (<$500), but not this much.

On the bright side, I cashed in some securities for large gains.

No state tax here in FL.

You're trying to impress us with your talk of cashing in securities, and you're paying income tax on a credit card???? :p

I never keep cash on hand. It's odd, but what I do. I charge everything and pay it off the next month.:duhme:

well, if you pay in full.. but if you're paying interest on taxes you owe, you're doing it wrong.

    lulz.

i figure if i sold my pot, it would go for around $300 an oz. the problem is, to replace it with dispensary weed of equal quality, it would cost me $400ish. doesn't make bidness sense for me.

i haven't sold in 30 years or so. i'm so protective of my pot that one of the top reasons i got rid of my last gf was that she was smoking/taking too much of my reefer.

    it's mine all mine. :)

Sad to know it's not going to be spent responsibly (no matter who is running the show).

My poor parents' accountant is having some sort of mental breakdown. Wouldn't return their messages. She's had their paper work for over 2 months and only got back to them yesterday. She only has the federal done. She has to file an extension for the state. My sister uses her too. She wanted to raise hell but I advised her it would be less aggravation if she just votes with her feet.

My guy is right down the street from me. We shot the shit while I played with his cairn terrier.

    Yipes... your poor parents.

Wasn't there a Seinfeld episode where George is dating some nutso accountant lady that was helping Jerry with his taxes or an audit? Then she goes into the looney bin and he's trying to recover all his paperwork from her?

Sounds like your folks might be in the early part of that episode...
