It looks like fun... according to McMillan & Wife
nope, but I did drive my brothers 70' Corvette to high school my senior yr. 70'-71'
Yes, about 20 years ago. 15 cars... two people per each car. 200.00 entry fee.. winner take all. Started in NY-travel to Georgia-pickup envelope to next destination in Alabama and get a napkin from a restaurant in some backwoods town. Then to Orlando Fl and back to NY. We did not win and would not do it again.
Anyone ever take their car to a track and race it?
Or spend the couple hundred to take a lamborghihi for some laps? I may try this Spring.
I bought a new ram air trans am in 2000. Picked it up on a Tuesday, had it on the Richmond drag strip on Friday.
this aint`hot rod magazine, pal
Whats your pwobwem?
I always wondered about these places - 5 laps of a track for $300 in a Lamborghini Gallardo, which includes insurance. Although you have to sign a liability form (which is obvious) I wonder how many wrecks they have.
I did once. We were in an ambulance roaring from New Jersey to Torrance CA. We told the cops we had a Senators wife who had cysts on the wall of her lungs (very rare).
Crazy, crazy time. Two priests in a red Lamborghini let the air out of our tires. We got them back in MO. Two dudes were on a motorcycle but the guy riding bitch was fat so they did a wheelie the whole way. There was some Arab Sheik who was trying to buy "two milk". Some smooth guy had an English car and kept babbling about making some movie called The Fly Who Bugged Me.
It all ended in some weird foot race down by the ocean. Good times.
Hey you, shorty! Where did you get all that jewelry?
Cause your small...small...S...M....ALL
Deno and Sammy ROCKED!!!!!
Why is s.a.m.m.y blocked out? Is there some slur that I'm missing. I might need to learn a new one.
The "slur" is in reference to a dearly departed Shed member who was sensitive to the problems of his fellow Shedders and beloved by all.
I've always wanted to do the Gumball 3000 rally since I found out about it back in early 2000. Alex Roy was a hell of a driver, his book is worth a read if you enjoy cars and rallies.
Getting an escort in Italy. Loved the team Polizei.
used to race my triumph around a mall parking lot that was set up with cones, etc. on sundays. it was an official gig. had to sign a release, remove the windshield, wear a helmet ..........many, many moons ago
I topk a three day racing class at Mid-Ohio in my '67 Cougar. I had a blast and learned a shitload. Cost was around $1000 (IIRC.....it was a gift). My tires, brakes and clutch were ready for replacement afterwards but it was well worth it.
I drag race my '87 Buick GN on a semi-regular basis and, hopefully this year, will install an adjustable suspension so I can roadrace it as well.
With all of the fun I have racing NOTHING was more of a blast than car chases at work when we were allowed. Good times, good times......
No, but this last fall, we were driving home east across France from Paris and I kept coming across cars covered with rally writing from the U.K. In fact, they were pissing me off because they were going slow and clogging up the highway, I had to keep flashing them to get the hell out of the way. After I got home, I looked up who they were, and it was a rally across Europe.
