Long time lurker, finally decided to sign up.

Long story short: I've been a subscriber since 2005, I've been trying to cancel since July 2012. When asked about why I want to cancel, I tell them I subscribed for the Stern Show and don't find it entertaining anymore, plus the fact that they keep raising the prices. I get offered a 2 month free trial, going on over 18 months without paying them a dime. Is anyone else getting it for free or on a discount? I know they are probably trying to hang on to all the subscribers they can but I just want to see how long I can ride this out.

    I get a discount every 6 months.
If not, they would be making sweet passionate love to me. Haven't listened to Wiggy in more than 6 months. Listen to O&A or music.

cancelled 2011 and never looked back or regretted it. The reception blows and the shows blow even harder

I cancelled, I told them I would re-up when Jay Thomas came back, and that Howard blows. I'm not going to re-up.

Ditto on the 2011 thing, I got their free trial the other night, won't listen to stern but will listen to SiriusXMU channel, when the trial's over it'll be time to create another bogus email and start again. :coffee:

Once they stop offering me the 2 free months, I'm done, I just want to see how much longer I can get it for free.

I tried to cancel a subscription once and they told me that radio was not active. I told them it was. They said it wasn't. I said fine. I have been listening it ever since without paying a dime.

I got a new daily driver and it's in the car for three months I think. I like 101 when they're playing older Howard, but even I can't take all the cock that comes out of my speakers on 100. Also, I would love to have O&A but that channel is premium or some bullshit. I probably won't re-up when it expires.

I am just speculating but I think it is more beneficial for them to keep the radios active and have higher subscription numbers to present to advertisers. In return they can charge higher ad rates.

I pay every 3 months for 24.99. I love Sirius, not just for Howard. I don't understand how some people say it has bad reception and whatnot. I've never had a problem ever. When I'm in the car its 95% Sirius on the radio. if i'm in the mood for something specific, I will plug in my Ipod. I just added my girlfriend's car to my account this past Saturday. I really do like it a lot. its better than listening to WBAB, The Shark 94.3 or B103 or WRCN. regular radio is just awful.

When you guys call to cancel and they offer you a steep discount, are you talking to someone named "Douglas" in India?
Or is it an American who understands english and knows that Howard's show blows now?

They still consider you a subscriber. And, somehow, one subscriber equals 4 listeners.

Funny thing about that, the first few times I called it was "David" or "Michelle" from India, the last 6 months or so all the reps have had a definite Midwestern accent, I just called to cancel again yesterday, I wasn't even offered the 6 month deal for $5 a month, she just went straight for the 2 month free credit.

I used to play the cancelation dance, then we got smartphones and have no need for sat radio. Told them we had it for Howard and he is hardly on, when he is he acts like he isn't and the show just sucks.

Someone streams 100, 101 and O&A on Shoutcast daily and I don't even bother. I'd rather read about it with the sarcastic commentary here, more enjoyable and tons funnier.
