I have a torn meniscus in my right knee, and I had one PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection about 4 years ago. It's worked wonders for me, and I was able to squat and deadlift again...until I recently had a surgery to repair my rotator cuff and biceps tendon, but that's another story.

    Knee injections, good.

It's not too bad. Look away at injunction and it's all good. You'll be glad you did it.

don't they also give you some xylocaine, lidocaine, etc. first? that pretty much numbs the pain. when i went to the walk-in surgeon last summer, he said "I can do this now?" I asked him if he was going to use something like that. He said sure so i told him to go for it. I never felt a thing. I was even making phone calls while he was cutting.

Yes, I believe they do, like a topical numbing creme. It really isn't all that bad.

Well the insurance company denied the Orthovisc since I didn't try steroid injections first. Got them today and feel notably better, but I was told that they can cause more damage in the long run if administered too often.. Was amazed how painless it was..
