I want to ask him something very personal and important.
Hey oderus, how much do you weigh?
just the other day; started a thread too
enough to know better
good. maybe he'll respond.
Boiling guitar strings: Yay or Nay?
Well, thanks for hearing me out anyway.
why would someone boil guitar strings?
to get the jizz off?
I've always heard that you can clean old strings like that but I've never tried.
I wouldn't think strings would last long enough that you'd need to clean them in such a way.
Jizz is for guitar picks for people too cheap to buy Gorilla Snot.
I think you're jerkin' my chain...

I looked. It makes sense. Remove the old dirt and oil. I should do it with mine. I inherited an old guitar from the 60's. No idea how old the strings are. I keep waiting for one to snap but they just keep on going.
I have an acoustic that's had the same strings since July.
I use Blue Steel on my electric so I don't know how they'd react to being boiled.
They're cryogenic activated.
