I find this type of stuff to be fascinating
I took a nap today....so there is that.
Lula....doesn't count! But I love naps
I prefer taking 24 hours at a time for myself.
I accept the premise that we need to be more present, more mindful.
I tried meditation....I could not get my brain to shut the fuck up.
PS I love TED talks!
Keep trying. Once you can do it it's incredible. Something as simple as being able to take command of your brain and body and force it to be calm is amazing. It's hard but when you do it it's great.
Good talk. I remember this one from a few years back.
I will try this again but random shit pops in my head and I get frustrated. Any tips?
That will happen. You just have to stick with it and consciously acknowledge those thoughts accept them and let them go. No joke, quieting my mind is one of the hardest things I've ever learned to do. It sounds simple and it is at its core but you have to learn it and practice it.
Protip: guided meditation is awesome to start with. YouTube has tons of them.
10 minutes? I can have that covered in 3 and a half.
Yeah, I was gonna suggest guided meditation and say that there are a lot of free podcast ones. I'm just getting started with it and it's the only kind I can do for now since I'm having the same issues as you Dlist. I really like My Meditation Station so far (though admittedly it's the first I've tried) Her voice is soothing and doesn't annoy me lol.
