My 5 year old nephew loves all the retro arcade games. His dad buys him classic discs with 5-6 games on there and he can't get enough. I used to hardmod consoles yeaaaaars ago for the original XBMC and dug into what's the latest and greatest for the old stuff. If you are into old games check out "coinops". It's new to me but I haven't played video games in forever. Modded a box last night and took it over to him today. He can hardly speak :jj:

I didn't watch the video, but can't you just put MAME on a modded Xbox?

That sounds neat. Can you recommend some links that go into the modding process? I'd like to look into this a bit. Thanks.

Google Xbox softmod for the easiest method.

If you have any Xbox version other than 1.6 you can do a TSOP flash and not need to hardmod. I did have a 1.6 and used an xecuter3 but I really dont think hardmods are necessary anymore unless you want to put in a SATA drive instead of IDE. Google all that shit and if you are below version 1.6 I would do the TSOP mod.

Look into coinops. I think the mega version has 17,000 games.

i softmodded my Wii U and put on a NES, SNES, Genesis, Gamecube and N64 emulators. Pretty easy to do and the roms are easy to find too.
The one device i have that is impossible to mod is the Playstation Vita handheld. Sony's previous handheld, the PSP, was so easily hacked and modded that Sony really upped the security on the Vita. Thing has been out for 3-4 years and still nobody can figure out to hack it to run homebrew on it.

I thought you only meant old arcade games, not console as well.

"Coin op" and "retro arcade games"

I have NES, SNES, N64, Sega, and Gameboy emulators on my FireTV stick. It's a bit laggy but for my needs it works fine.

I'd like to get a more stable setup someday. I don't know if I want to go Xbox, Wii or something lke a Raspberry Pi.

Too many choices. I just want something that works without too much fiddling.

One of these days I'll put in a little time to research.
