Are we witnessing a downward trend here? Honestly, X-Men Apocalypse was just okay and has taken in significantly less box office than was predicted in it's first weekend. Now this is just my opinion, but if you rip away the IP (Intellectual property) from Civil War, Avengers and Avengers 2, what do you have as far as story? Not very much IMHO, I guess that's the thing I'm doing is thinking that without all of the marvel fluff added, could the movie stand on it's own merit? Here are the marvel properties that I feel had decent enough stories in them to draw a dime or 2: Capt America: Winter Soldier X-Men 1st Class Iron Man Guardians of the Galaxy Everything else had more fluff than a Harry Reams movie and I think that casual film goers are losing their mojo for superhero films. What's the solution? Better writing, or we might go back to a super hero movie every couple of years (or is that rightsizing the industry?) What do you guys think?
