For some bizarre reason, I think those callers that claimed they were now fans were plants. Never in my life have I become a fan after hearing them perform on the radio but Howard is under the dilusion that he still has any influence whatsoever. So, has that ever happened to you? Are you converted little monsters now? Ugh

No, but to be fair, back when the show was at its zenith, or on the way, Howard had Christopher Cross in the studio. Cross sings syrupy ballads and seemed so out of place, for example, he sang the song from the movie "Arthur".

The interview was so great and I actually thought Cross came across as a cool guy. I still don't love his music, but Howard was a great interviewer then who asked good questions on things other than cock size. I remember how revolutionary that was, to hear a real interview...back then, all you got were Casey casem style sound bites everywhere else.

    Sadly those days are gone.

I'm ambivalent. The more I tune into Wigward's "show" the less of a fan I am of HIM.

But, after the Daryl Hall "kill all the fucking deer" interview, I became a big fan of his and that fabulously cheesy 80s High School Memory music. Much as it pains me to give Wiggy any credit for it. But I sure as shit would NEVER call in to announce it to that egomaniac!

Unpopular opinion but I generally think the Foo Fighters suck outside of those acoustic takes.

I'm sure a lot of you are on the opposite side, but it truly makes my skin crawl when I hear someone talk about how Grohl has amassed a superior catalogue with the Foo Fighters versus his work in Nirvana.

I Liked Katy Perry's acoustic version of "kissed a girl."
I couldn't name another one of her songs though.

I still think the funniest fake caller who claimed that Howard influenced how he think was a caller from a few months back who claimed Howard changed his opinion about gay marriage. The caller claimed that he was adamantly opposed to gay marriage, but once Howard said "how does two men getting married even affect his life in any way?", the caller had an epiphany and is now a strong supporter of gay marriage.

Serious?!? A simple argument like that can radically change someone's opinion about an issue like that. And it is a simple argument that has been argued a billion times before.
