I donated a bunch of clothing to the church today. I'm pretty sure I will eventually miss all of that comfortable shit.

I donated my old Jetta to Cars for Causes. I was sad to see it go, I seem to get attached to cars easily.

when i donate, its always money or time. i can't recall ever resenting either. i only donate money on my birthday or during some disasters. every time i say i'm not going to donate to the latest disaster fund, i always end up calling the red cross eventually.

i prefer to donate my time, but the nyc charities all want people during the business days. during the katrina aftermath i took 2 weeks of vacation time to donate my time for that, but that was a rarity since we were working with hurricane refugees that made it to NYC, and how often do disaster refugees make it all the way to the city?

I gave money to a charity and then they started sending me mail every few weeks...made me think about the paper and fuel they wasted to preach to the proverbial choir. I wondered how much of my money donated was spent in the incessant hassling of other donors via snail mail.
