So you could get multiple scripts for a drug you liked?
I don't make movies.
That's illegal, cuz
Two Dr's is OK though, right?
Insurance won't let you fill both of them at the same time.
Of course. I need multiple scrips for generic Prilosec.
My friend does this with a low dose of Xanax.
Not filled at the same time.
He says he fills one Dr. one month, and the other Dr. the next month so they don't over lap.
He doesn't want to use the same Dr every month for fear that one Dr. might want to cut him off if he is using too much.
He's doing it wrong.
That's what's going to get him caught and get in trouble.
Especially for Xanax, that's a common monthly prescribed drug.
How is he doing it wrong?
Xanax is a monthly prescribed medication. If you're saying he's not going over his monthly limit, just stick to one doctor.
Let's say Dr. A gives him 60 a month and Dr. B gives him 60 a month, what's the point of going to Dr. B? Getting the same meds from two different docs is a huge red flag, especially with the narcotics. Why can't he just keep going to Dr. A to get his refills?
I think he fears that Dr A might try to ween him off of it.
But I think you are right. I will mention that to him.
Thanks for the advice.
In Oregon, it can't be done for any length of time. They have a statewide database of Rxs, so a pharmacist can see if you're getting the same med from more than one source, and won't fill it.
Well, that's different then. Maybe he should just switch to Dr. B then. Or he might need a Dr. C, but he has to choose one. And you're welcome, BB.
Thanks kids. Gotta run.
I think every state has this now. And any doctor or pharmacist can check and see what narcotics you're on.
The days of doctor shopping are just about over.
You're better off just finding a quack who doesn't care what he/she prescribes you.
