My first car cost me $500. I used to have to park it on a hill, to jump-start it. You could see the road through the floor-boards.

The roof of the car was duct-taped.

    Duct tape rules.

Jury rigging refers to makeshift repairs or temporary contrivances, made with only the tools and materials that happen to be on hand. Originally a nautical term, on sailing ships a jury rig is a replacement mast and yards improvised in case of damage or loss of the original mast.[1]

MacGyver did not work for me as well- That cracker sucked !!

I tried to jump start a '55 Ford on a 6v system with four D Cell 1.5v batteries stuffed into a paper roll - while holding the 14 gauge wires put into the clamps around the battery post - and holding them up to the Ray-o-Vac's in '86 @ Graffiti Night's in Modesto.

We ended up having to get a jump from a 12v car - then drove home @ 0400 with no lights back to Discovery Bay.
