You have to be alert to watch Cloud Atlas.
Django Unchained is a typical Tarantino snuff film, but the German actor is really good in it.

Django Unchained is fantastic. Seen it many times and I'm having a blast every time.
Interstellar is one of those very intense sci fi movies that blows you away. Has to be your kind of thing. There's some mind-fuckery in there, too.
Under Seige is a great classic action movie. One of the few decent ones starring Steven Seagal.

    Haven't seen the others.

Contact - Somewhat interesting movie until the end, which makes the whole movie suck, don't bother with this one.
Cloud Atlas - After your third watch you might have a clue what this movie is about, but then again maybe you won't, skip this one.
Under Seige - Classic action movie, the only movie worth seeing with Steven Segal as the star.
Interstellar - I can tell this is a good movie, so I don't want to say to much bad about it, but I personally did not like it very much.
Django Unchained - Good fun movie, it's directed by Quentin Tarantino so you know it won't be boring.

Django was good. Nothing terribly exciting.

Under Siege was a ripoff of Die Hard, made not too long after Die Hard.

    Have not seen the rest.

Of the ones I've seen, I'd recommend starting off on a space theme with either Contact or Interstellar. Both were good movies, IMHO. Interstellar suffers your typical Hollywood preachiness from the very beginning of the movie inundating you with a world in which humans have once again destroyed the environment, blah, blah, blah. If you can hold your lunch through that part of the plot development, though, the rest of the movie is certainly entertaining.

Contact was most memorable in its build-up. To my mind, it features the most realistic portrayal of how I envision we might possibly some day come to know of the existence of extraterrestrial life. The first three quarters of the movie are very well done in my estimation. The end is a bit disappointing relatively speaking, but that's typical of so many Hollywood movies these days. I will add this one caveat regarding Contact. If you are religious yourself, or at least tolerant of those who practice their religion in a responsible manner, then you will likely appreciate the manner in which the movie addresses the concept of faith. Alternatively, if you are a dyed-in-the-wool atheist, or one who despises persons of faith, then you may not find the viewing experience quite as enjoyable.

You can then move on to Django Unchained. @Rocinante described it as another "Tarantino snuff film" and that's not too far off the mark. But neither is it a blanket indictment of the movie. Is it cerebral? Umm, no. But minor issues with pacing put aside, I found it to be very entertaining and worth the time invested to watch.

Save the fun for last. Under Siege is a ridiculous Steven Seagal action movie, but one of his best. The whole "Navy SEAL/spec ops warrior/war hero turned fry cook" angle requires some serious suspension of disbelief right from the opening scenes, but what the hell, it's again a Steven Seagal action movie and that's hardly the last time you'll need to put that skill to use over the course of the next two hours. Tommy Lee Jones makes for an excellent bad guy and what more needs to be said about having Erika Eleniak to stare at on the screen.

I would Que them like this:
    Contact I liked a lot
Interstellar was good but even more turned in on itself than Inception was
Django was typical Tarantino - good but not great
Under siege is just a stupid popcorn action movie
    The others I haven't seen

"Contact," is a flawed movie, but it is beautifully filmed. The ending is a face slap though.
"Django Unchained," bored me. I wasn't shocked, horrified, amused, or entertained. His last good movie was, "Jackie Brown," and there were pure shit moments in that flick.
"Interstellar," infuriated me. I wanted to punch Chris Nolan in the face after watching. Again, pretty movie, but the fucking ending was enough to make me say out loud, "Are you fucking serious???" I felt like I had been punked.
I did not watch, "Cloud Atlas," or, "Under Siege."

contact (1997) jodie foster sci fi stuff - good movie ... 3 stars

under seige (1992) steven seagal as a chef or something - erika eliniak's tits & the usual seagal nonsense ... 2 stars

django unchained (2012) tarantino movie about chains - a good western, overrated by critics because it deals with slavery ... 3 stars

I see a lot of people referencing the end of Contact as being unsatisfying. Which part do you mean, the Contact or the burying of the truth?

I enjoyed Contact and didn't hate any part of it.
