I couldn't keep watching after the first part. Does it stay such a bummer?

When show two starts, it jumps to the boys being adults and the sons wedding. It's all definitely a downer story, but it grabs hold and takes you to the end with an interesting mellow conclusion.

I loved it. The acting is great. They really captured old school, yankee humor and behavior.

It sucked me right in, probably because I grew up in New England. The setting alone was worth watching. The acting was incredible!

I thought it was one of those American Girl stories meant to sell dolls.

That title generates absolutely zero interest for me.

That and the fact Showtime has got most of the good cable series now.
