    Google 'chemistry of cast iron seasoning' and click on Sheryl's blog if you're starting from scratch with a new lodge. Flaxseed oil. Trust

    Rendered pork fat. Save it when you cook bacon. Use it after you cook, this will build up the seasoning in a hurry

    scotch-brite scour pads. Use them with hot water to clean your skillet, gently

    Pam. spray your shit down with this before you cook, promotes non-stick and helps with seasoning
