Latest on the list: Disturbed, Sound of Silence

A month or so ago howard mentions that he heard a great cover song and proceeds to play the above and do a short bit on it.

Well, as has happened many times, the most honest man in the world now has a plug for that seemingly random interest, read by him. Sound familiar?

Squatting potty, some underwear, one more that escapes me because I just woke up, etc.

I'm not sure why he does it this way. Does he think it brings more marbles? If anything, it makes me queston, even more, all that I hear on the show.

Just do it as a plug from the start. Don't blow smoke up my ass.

He'll plug any thing as long as he gets something for free. Chimney Manor must be littered with Apple and Shhtarbucks' products.

I'm actually quite surprised we haven't heard a Starbucks commercial.
I guess he really does like that stuff...for free!

    uh, yes. because it does.

When Howard claims that he works over vacation, it's not about content; it's about side-marbles. The show is essentially just a side-marble jar now. It's the Clinton Foundation of radio.

For all we know, the NRA paid him for his pro-gun schpiel a couple of months back.

Howard: How can we squeeze a few more pennies out of a live read?

Gary: How about we create an add-on where you pretend to like the product about 3 weeks before the actual plug. It will build interest and then, WHAM, plugola.

Howard: How much more can we charge for that?

    Gary: Oh, about 500

    Howard: DONE!

Him talking about drinking Starbucks was the commercial. Same as all the you porn mentions. Old lady wiggy doesn't mention anything for free. His own daughter couldn't come up with the cash, so no mention of zu za zu.

There's usually a radio playing in the background when I'm working.
I'll stop what I'm doing and change the station when that annoying piece of shit comes on.

Plugola within the body of the main show disguised as interest has been a Stern staple for decades now. There's even a sworn affidavit, filed in connection with a federal lawsuit brought by an ex-advertiser, proving that Stern's has been a shill for years.

The entire show is nothing but a means to direct suckers cash into wigs pockets by convincing companies that wig is still drawing millions and millions of listeners, which he doesn't.

I've seen this before. Forgot what it said.

"the content of the live advertisements often is blended into the entertainment portion of the show."

    So it's a 3 hour long commercial...

Instead of a vast conspiracy theory how about this one.

    1. Howard mentions products on air that he uses.

    2. Smart sales guy hears that and calls product manufacturer and uses that fact to sell ads.

    3. Product ads run.

Another in a long list of reasons I stopped listening to that unfunny Jew more than 5 years ago.

Ever consider that Howard mentioned it, which got people to seek the song out, (I know I did) and Disturbed found out about it and decided to advertise or maybe they noticed a sales spike after Howard played it.

I just don't get what either party would stand to gain by having a "secret" plug.

Nowadays if someone is up to Anything untoward, the media/internet will find out... Howard has been doing this for like 40 years and nothing. Maybe he's a decent person...
