Hewlett-Packard has admitted to creating and using slush funds for bribes, money laundering, and clandestine “bag of cash†handoffs in order to profiteer off of lucrative government contracts in Russia, Poland, and Mexico, according to court documents. HP’s guilty plea carries with it a $108 million penalty — a combination of SEC penalties, as well as criminal fines and forfeitures paid out to the Department of Justice. Thus far no criminal charges have been brought against American HP executives. The multi-agency investigation, which was conducted by multi-national law enforcement partners, the FBI, IRS, and SEC, has revealed kleptocracies in the three foreign governments and corruption and dishonesty among HP corporate fat cats. https://news.vice.com/articles/hewl...ering-schemes?trk_source=homepage-in-the-news
its not the same company anymore. the old HP died when the bitch took over. now its really compaq computers with a different letterhead. nothing they make is even close to the quality they put into their paper clips way back when.
Yes, you are right. I worked there when we had beer busts on Friday with softball games, and profit sharing. And I was cheering for the chick when she took over, but she really fucked HP up.
HP's a shit company now. Absolutely horrible equipment. Parts of US Mil have a contract with them and the computers they delivered were absolutely atrocious. They started falling apart not even 2 months after purchase.
I have an HP 65 (I'm the original owner) that I bought in 1974 It still works exactly as it did when I got it. Even the tape drive works, 40 years later. You're lucky if you get 40 days out of an HP product now.
