My college roommate and I used to fall asleep listening to that album. That's worse song on that album in my opinion. I used to yell at her , HEY! EDDDDIEEEE can you lend me a few bucks. lol Yeah though the rest of the album is great. And probably listening back I'd say Hey Eddie isn't as bad as I thought it was lol

You have to love Bruce if only for the fact that he has avoided the Stern Show for decades

So Bruce, why did you fire your band in the early 1990's?
In a shense didn't you become a star to impress your father?
    How big was Clarence's cock?
How much do you make on tour? You must be worth $500 million, right?

Along with Darkness, Born To Run is my favorite Springsteen record. I am reluctant to admit this, because it's only a matter of time before 3 or 4 of the usual posters will enter this thread, point out that Bruce stumped for Obama, and thereby conclude that by liking this song, I am in favor of letting 300,000 moooslims enter the country next week and destroy our way of life.

I love the song but I pretty much tune out the words and listen to the stellar Randy Brecker playing trumpet.

The Brecker brothers on that album are insanely good.

    It's true, isn't it?
Supposedly Stern has met Springsteen several times - and Gary/Ross have their heads way up BS ass, yet never a visit.

I even recall back in the late 80's or early 90's when some guy/friend of the show called in from NJ - and claimed to have Springsteen sleeping in his house - and Stern questioned they guy at length - and it seemed to be true - that BS was in the guys house - and Stern begged the guy to get Springsteen to come on and say a few words - but he refused.

BTW - Meeting Across the River is one of Springsteen's BEST songs. I always found the trumpet to be haunting. The lyrics are like a gritt 70's crime novel/movie.
