If you are bundled with TV no need to worry about it.

Beginning on May 23, 2016 we will be increasing the U-verse® Internet data allowance for many customers. After a grace period, and as our agreement provides, there's a $10 charge for each 50GB of data you use over the allowance amount. If you choose to bundle your U-verse Internet with DIRECTV®or U-verse TV you will be provided an unlimited Internet data allowance with a $30 value at no additional charge, as a benefit of bundling. Or if you choose, an unlimited allowance is available for purchase as an optional bolt-on to your Internet service.

After May 23, 2016 log in to your account at att.com/myatt to find helpful tools to view your data usage. Questions? Go to att.com/internet-usage.

So they are going to "allow" people some extra data capacity and if they use it they'll charge you for it? Seems shady...

If you decide to pay the $30 to be safe it wont be $30. By the time they add in fees, Government charges, taxes etc.. it will be $60.

Never had Uverse. They are as crooked as xfinity.
Just have the internet with WOW. And watch Netflix and Amazon prime.

I had U-verse for years before I dumped them. It was written in the agreement even back then but they never enforced it.

The main reason is ISPs have been getting the shaft over the last few years when their network capacity is being taxed while Netflix, Prime, Hulu are reaping the profits with HD video streaming.

I just checked our xfinity usage.
We run limited basic cable with HBO so primary use is Netflix. We average 350 - 450 gb per month.
I hope this is never put into play up here. It does make sense from their end though Netflix and other companies profiting off the HSI lines they provide.

No one is getting the shaft. The ISPs don't provide dick except for bad customer service and their shitty internet speeds. I don't have UVerse, but I have their Devil cousin Comcast.

Yup, done with 'em. They have to worst, most compressed TV picture out of all the big guys (Dish, Xfinity, Direct TV, Charter) and their internet speeds are insanely horrible. I pay for 18 down (the fastest speeds in my area for their "internet) and I rarely get 10 down. I can't even keep a connection via wifi one room over. Their boxes constantly reboot (10 minute reboot) and all of my deals run out this month, so for the U450 package plus internet my price is going up to $240.00. I think the fuck not. I loathe Comcast/Xfinity but it looks like I'm going back to them, or Direct TV. With Direct TV though to get a two year same price plan you have to be bundled with Uverse DSL for internet. Fucking loathe Monopolies. I'd love to have Verizon Vios here, but since Uverse is in our city Verizon is blocked. Crock-O-Shit.
