Humans were evolved to eat and process fat. I never lost a pound on low fat diet, on low carbohydrate diet I lost 85 lbs without having to try that hard. All my numbers were greatly improved to the shock of my primary care doc. It doesn't mean to go nuts and eat the fattiest steaks but sensibly. Fish, chicken, lean beef and leave out the starches and sugars. Eat plenty of vegetables. Eating high protein with green veggies makes at least in my case feel more sasiated. But as with everything you gotta do what feels right for your body but I have a feeling a lot of people would benefit.

Now you did it: you said "Bloody Mary"! Now the Food Cunt will appear. The harpy can sense posts that question her uninformed and unsubstantiated idiotic opinions (thus any post about food, cookin, or diet).

I'd have no problem cutting out carbs if it weren't for tasty beer.

I didnt know there was a health and fitness forum. :)

This is similar to or the premise behind Atkins.

Cut out all carbs: bread, pasta, rice, fruit, sugary drinks, you get the idea.

Eat everything else: meat, vegetables, beans, legumes, lentil etc.

Not just losing weight, losing body fat and retaining (and building) muscle mass.

Perfect way to gain healthy weight and muscle.

Of-course I'm carb loading ATM to get my weight back but errr, I'm being lazy right now. :p

I really want to try a Ketogenic diet for health reasons. There are lots of great videos and info on it. One of the foremost experts on it is Dr. Stephen Phinney, here is his video. I just read his book called "The Art and Science of Low Carb living"

Don't restart this discussion: if you say low-carb 3x times the harpie will appear.

Even if I did not like the avocado, I would still eat it. It is probably one of the best things you can put in your body.

High fat is really the way to go. Its too bad its called fat. If it was called energy it wouldn't have the negative stigma. Vinny tortorichs podcast preaches this. He calls it NSNG. No sugar no grain. Its tough to start but it feels great after a bit. He also says you don't have to be in ketosis to be fat adapted and get the benefits. Its the way I've kept trying to transition cause when I eat like that for a few days you know its the truth. Problem sticking to it if you live with people not on it tho. And beer. Lovely lovely beer.

    No carbs= no energy!

Just cut out the shit carbs- processed foods- white breads, pasta, cereals, surgery drinks- get your carbs from fruit, oats, sweet potatoes and rice..

    I find I can't cut out carbs completely - I get horrible stomach aches. I eat whole-grain hippie-dippy bread, though :uhippie2:
