Freedom house fire claims life of "local celebrity" NEW SEWICKLEY TWP. — Authorities found a body Saturday night in a Freedom home destroyed by flames. Authories suspect the victim was Jack Rushman, who lived at 120 Locust Lane, based in accounts of family and friends. A neighbor said he saw Rushman was on his way home at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and he had ground meat. Authorities on scene said they suspected the fire started in the kitchen. "This one was fully involved," Pine Run Fire Chief Darrin Moldovan said. At least three fire department responded. Neighbor Chad Scobie said he alerted authorities around 5:50 p.m. when he heard flames "popping" next door. Neighbors on scene referred to Rushman as a "local celebrity," based on past appearances on the Howard Stern show. Rushman was referred to on the show as Hillbilly Jack. He was an in-studio guest and at one time considered a member of Stern's wack pack. Scobie said Rushman was a "funny, and interesting" guy.
