Sound City may be the best rock doc of the last 20 years.

I was hoping this thread would be about a football team in Philadelphia. Chuck Bednarik and company.

Saw them at the MGM Grand in Vegas a few months ago...Even at their age, they're still a fantastic band!!!

I never liked the Eagles. Ever. Until I watched the documentary about 3 times. It was amazing, and whether you like their music or not, you can't deny their talent as musicians and songwriters. And Don Henley was HOT.

I watched it and laughed at the stupid bass player, Randy Meisner for quitting the band because he was afraid to sing Take It To The Limit on stage.

I'd like to add to the DB pile: Don Henley. Saw him on 60 Minutes. Christ, you would have thought he and the Eagles invented math, water, the sun, and the alphabet. The Eagles were a talented bunch; but their FM-friendly brand of country-fried rock hardly changed the world and I'm not sure how relevant they are to anyone under the age of 45.

Is this Farewell Tour #6, or do they not even bother calling it a series of farewell tours anymore?

He and Glenn Frey could have a douche-off. They think very, very highly of themselves. You can see that in the documentary as well. But because he looked like this I forgave him:drool:

Let me guess. Talented assholes can't get along and are unhappy despite throngs of women and more money than they can ever spend.

This was a total puff piece esp. when they took out the fighting between Frey and Henley. That was given one line in the film and it was much bigger than that. Total revisionist history. They made it appear like Felder was a malcontent when it's the other two assholes. You would have thought they were digging ditches the entire time. The way they treated the other members. Like two divas always wanting to be in charge.

Also, Frey wanted to come across as if he was still in demand and was doing other projects after they broke up but after the Miami Vice days he was stale as can be. If anything the only one that was still relevant was Henley.

They did put out some great music but they always played it safe. They just appeared to never enjoy it like most of those other bands did. With the exception of Joe Walsh. And by the way, who was it that took Joe to rehab that last time? Was it Henley or Frey? No, it was Don Felder of course, the asshole if you take those other to pricks word for it.
