He’ll still sit court side at Los Angeles Lakers’ games, but Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson has quietly retired from the movie business, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
The 76-year-old icon has no plans to appear in films again after a career spanning five decades.
“Jack has — without fanfare — retired,†a well-placed Hollywood film insider confirmed to Radar.
“There is a simple reason behind his decision — it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.

In my opinion, he is one of the most underrated actors of all-time.

Jack Nicholson is excellent at acting like Jack Nicholson. No one else does it better.

You've clearly never seen "About Schmidt", where he plays the polar opposite of himself/his persona.

Even though he hasn't done one thing of note in the last decade.............unless you count his ridiculous accent in "The Departed" as something of note............it's sad news. :(

Rewatching The Departed he totally ruins that movie ... Do we really need him to "Play Jack" in everything? The guy hasnt had any range for decades.

We still have Jack Nicholson Lite. Same thing, just without all the talent, charisma, success, personality...

Sounds like he has early stages of dementia, but his people won't admit to it. Very sad to think there will be no more new Jack Nicholson performances. Still, he's leaving behind an impressive body of work; EASY RIDER, CARDINAL KNOWLEDGE, FIVE EASY PIECES, THE LAST DETAIL, ONE FLEW OVER THE COOKOOS NEST , CHINATOWN, his funny bit in the original LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, THE BUCKET LIST. I wish him well.

Why not retire? He hasn't had any good roles in a long time. Bucket List was horrible. Iconic actors like Nicholson are aging fast. DeNiro is 70. Al Pacino has been a joke for years. Eastwood somehow managed to stay popular into his 80's. Of course he also had to make the films to get those roles.
