Do you think it's cheesy, dated shit? Do you think it's a whole bunch of great songs? Did you ever have a time in your life when it fucked up your head and you listened to it repeatedly for a long time? Is it overrated? Underrated? Does anyone here remember Vera Lynne?

    The WWII singer?

    Interesting segue from Floyd.

The Wall sounds like a practice album. So much going on in there. However, if you break down each of the 'tracks,' there is some brilliant writing and playing. The tone of Gilmour's guitar is stellar, and while the solos aren't spectacular, they are great for what they are.

I haven't watched it in about 10 years, so I don't know if I would have the same reaction to it but I loved it. I was so into Pink Floyd in high school and college. I could belt out the entire album and every time it would give me chills. Mother, Hey You, Run Like Hell, and a lot of the guitar instrumentals are my favorites off the album. And The Wall is only one of their great albums. Fantastic band. :)

Great album. Still not my favorite Floyd though.

Not necessarily overrated, but many other Pink Floyd albums are underrated.

I was probably 25 when I really discovered it, and I freaked out. I lay in bed for a dozen hours at a time, listening to it on repeat in the dark,

I've got a little black book with my poems in.
Got a bag with a toothbrush and a comb in.
When I'm a good dog, they sometimes throw me a bone in.

I got elastic bands keepin my shoes on.
    Got those swollen hand blues.
Got thirteen channels of shit on the T.V. to choose from.
    I've got electric light.
    And I've got second sight.
    And amazing powers of observation.
And that is how I know
When I try to get through
    On the telephone to you
    There'll be nobody home.

I'm 41. I got in late. I loved a lot of bands who were interested in Pink Floyd before I actually got into Floyd.

I saw them in concert and it was one of the funnest events of my life. What a show they put on! Not to mention, there were a couple of Mexican men in the seats below me, smoking pot, and they were so high, they just kept repeating, "Pink Floyd, Numero Uno!" :hehe:
