Honestly. Is anyone going to watch the Indy 500 tomorrow other than me?

    The Pagentry!
The Purdue band playing back home again in Indiana while Jim Nabors sings (It's going to be tape this year, Jim is ill )
    The Yard of Bricks.
All of the old drivers showing up. Johnny Rutherford, AJ Foyt, The Andretis, Rick Mears, The Unsers (At least the sober ones)
Decrepit old Mary Hullman George saying "Gentleman and Ladies start your engines"

I'll have watery eyes when Gomer starts to sing. For some reason I always think of my dad at that point, sitting in our back yard in Iowa listening to it on the radio when I was a kid before it was live on TV.

I have no big favorites this year. I always root for Franchetti (Starting 8th row) and Tony Kanan (4th row). I'm also a big fan of the Penske drivers.

Anybody else even pay attention to it anymore?

I'm going to be Smoking a Brisket this year so I'll be in and out, hopefully, during the commercials.

We used to go to Speedway (Where the track is) the night before the race and get in line for the infield. We'd stay up all night pursuing women and drugs and avoiding fights and then drive in to the track at about daybreak and get our parking spot. More than once, I missed the start of the race due to over consumption.

I made the trip in the 1985, with a bunch of nuts I worked with...I could have dealt without the race...the fun in the American Legion grounds were we camped was more than enough...

Did you see douche bags dressed like Jesus, dragging around the Cross on wheels? People were throwing bottles, cans and firecrackers at them...crazy shit...

Yeah, we usually parked close to the coke plant. I'm sure that guy got his ass kicked regularly. I'm pretty normal and even I turned into an animal those nights.

Probably a better view than from the stands :) You can only see about 300 feet of track from some seats.

No. I'll probably be somewhere looking at parked cars.

Rays are good this year. I really like Joe Maddon. He's gotta be one of the top 2 or 3 coaches.
