It sounded like he treated Mr. Williams as he does anyone else... I don't get his remorse
I haven't heard it but I know in the 80s he sounded like that guy from 1930s gangster movies that went "Yeah! See?!" (Edward G Robinson?). He always said it was due to lack of compression or something but that doesn't seem like it could change the sound of a voice that much.

When you listen to the sanitized and processed old tapes..they sound strange. He actually had the slowed down so that his voice sounds deeper. Everyone else sounds like they took 20 valium.
