I guess I am in the minority here because I still do find the show somewhat entertaining but what fucking drives me crazy is when Howard is being put down in the media or on the phone he screams "when I got to Sirius we had 400k subscribers, now we have 30 million, I DID THAT" Its an outright fucking lie! drives me crazy

He brought in only enough subs to meet his first subscriber bonus and that's it

Does he say that on wed thru sunday, and it echoes thru the empty duplex?

The "show" would have more listeners if it was on public access.....

Well, Stern math has always been, shall we say, a little fuzzy.

His lawsuit, which was rightfully tossed, is a testament to that.

I feel like he's full of shit and the stock price has only moved laterally for 5 years so everyone one at Sirius is full of shit.

Someone posted a chart the other day that tells the real story.

It wouldn't take much digging but he started w Sheeryusch having about 1M subs, then I think he cut it to 600K, then 400K.

Since the subs were/are public, I figure he just keeps moving the goal posts back.

Buchwald tells Howard about satellite radio in 2002 = Howard's involvement with the organization...or some equally farcical.

When Howard was on terrestrial he claimed to have 10 times the audience Leno and Letterman had if you combined them. That would be about 60 million people. That's 1/5 of the US population. Without getting too involved in research, let's assume half of those people are older teenagers - upper middle aged. You know, the people who might listen to Howard. So now you're at 150 mill. And he had 60 million of them. So essentially for every 10 cars you passed on the road four were tuned in to Howard.

And to this seemingly unbelievable claim I say - YOU'RE GOD DAMNED RIGHT he had 60 million people listening. Howard is the King of all Media and don't any of you fucking forget it!

They had around 600,000 when he announced, and 3 million when he went on air, I don't understand why anyone would dispute he saved them

From Howard's December 2005 profile in New York Magazine:

"After all, before Howard’s announcement, it had just 700,000 subscribers. Wall Street treated it like a castoff. A share of XM traded for about ten times as much as a share of Sirius."

SiriusXM execs entrusted Howard on Monday with the announcement that the company had achieved 30 million subscribers. Instead, he implied that he deserved sole credit, and then diminished the success the company had before he arrived by cutting their subscribers numbers almost in half.

But these guys already knew who they were dealing with. They shouldn't be surprised to find snake bites on their asses.
