I haven't met one fan of that guy. What is good about his show?
Maybe he does live shows? Maybe he works more than 4 days a month in August? Maybe he works more than 2 days a week? Maybe he actually cares about his show?
Do you think any of those might be significant?
By the way I haven't listened to Imus since 1982
people listen to stuff
The last time I heard Imus was about six years ago in Salt Lake City, he was on during morning drive time on a semi-popular AM station for some reason. The show was heavy on politics and the guests were actually relevant. Mumble mouth Imus and his breathing tube were a bit much to take for more than about 30 minutes, but he put in a hell of a lot more effort than Howchie does these days and he sounded like he actually read the research on his guests and was up on the issues. Also, unlike Howard and his groups like Train and Maroon 5, I actually liked Imus' taste in music.
i used to watch him on msnbc on mute while listening to HS. it was funny whenever i turned the sound on i'd think of HS and fred's impressions so it was good.
My father, who is 76, listens to Imus. Not my cup of tea, but I've listened a few times in the car with my dad. I'll give Imus this much: his crew and many of his guests poke fun at Imus constantly and sometimes it's borderline vicious. Imus takes it in stride, frequently laughs at it, and often dishes it right back. Wiggy tried to do that a few times with the roasts, and we see how long those lasted.
Same way as Howard! People listen because they have for so long.. Habit
He's on a local classic rock station here, I've heard maybe 3 minutes of his show. I honestly don't know how anyone can listen because I can't even tell if he's actually saying words or speaking in tongues.
A lot of people here don't like Imus is because Stern told them not to like him....It is a pretty political oriented show and it isn't bad. He should have NEVER apologized to that race-baiting Sharpton, by the way...
Bingo!!! Dude actually shows up for work and provides content. I started listening to him before we had Stern in our market, then went back when Howie decided to work 5 days a month. Most people who have a job have daily habits when they get ready and head to work. I went back to Imus when he went on Fox Business because I just can't deal with Howard's lack of consistency. Hell, why did most of us give Sirius up- because Howard was not providing enough content to justify the cost! It's obvious to everyone that Howard got so rich he just doesn't care. Imus still needs the money and exposure for the Ranch, so he is going strong until this contract expires.
I haven't heard him since MSNBC yanked his ass off over the nappy headed Rutgers girls. However, as irritating as is his personal presentation, he actually has guests who are worthwhile and encourages them to dialog, especially in the political realm. Now that the presidential election is nearing, I'm sure his show, wherever it is, despite its host's shortcomings, will be a helluva lot more relevant than listening to tradio goofs, whores on moving masturbation machinery or extolling the virtues of vacuous bimbo wives. Whatever you wanna say about Imus, and most of it spot on, unlike Howie, he does not underestimate the intelligence of whatever audience he still retains.
More people see and hear the Imus radio show than listen to live Sirius Stern.....not even close.
Do you mean the Don Imus show or the Howard Imus show?
My mom and dad watch him on tv sometimes in the morning. They always tell me how funny he is. A few years ago, I used to tell them Howard is much funnier. Now all I can do is sit there and say nothing.
People love cowboys.
The 6 people that listen to him say the same thing about the 11 that listen to howard.
People who listen to Imus are not aware of music.
