After-hours trading of Amazon after a good quarter: Up $82.82 per share. Bezos owns 83,000,000 shares.

He made this much after 4PM: $6,950,347,241.22

He's up $7 billion before Happy Hour has ended. Holy schnikees.

Good for him to stay with the company. If I hit three commas I'd be like Cuban and just play around all day, world is my oyster type life etc.

Amazon has a profit margin of about 1%. People are idiots for buying that stock.
But I'm glad for Bezos. He worked his ass off to get there.

Here is the current value of Bezos's stock:

    $47,561,456,115.5

Wow, nearly $50 billion for a company which doesn't turn a profit. Welcome to our world.

Amazon does almost everything right. He deserves whatever he gets.

And my dad was a total asshole for not joining him when asked.

Talk about your scams. Not really any profits, just sell shares to suckers looking to unload them later to bigger suckers. Scrape off the cream for yourself. 20 years of this.

I love their prices and free shipping though.

Keep this in mind when people tell you that the stock market rise of the past few years is proof the economy is doing well. It's possible for the stock market to be detached from reality for longer than smart people can stay solvent betting against it.

Have you seen their latest competition? Jet

Similar business model: less than 1% profit margin, and the more you buy the larger the discount off the stated price.

Amazon's value isn't in the products it sells, but in the distribution network behind it.

An interesting read about their profits.

Jet claims that they're going to make profits by selling their "prime memberships" for $50 a pop. I laughed for quite a while at that one. Sounds like Pets.com shipping 50lb bags of dog food for free. Great idea.

They gave me three months free membership. The 27" 4k monitor I bought made that worthwhile. Not sure if the will succeed but I'm willing to check them out.

I wasn't too sure about Uber's business model but so far I am a very happy customer.

I really worry about what our future holds. A man just made $7 billion in a couple of hours. Imagine what things will look like in 20 years.

He could basically buy control of my little state with what he pocketed around dinner time.

Delaware's annual state budget is $4 billion, or a PORTION of what Bezos made today.

Bezos could easily buy control of any number of small countries with today's windfall.

    Had a couple of beers.

    Saw some live music.

Girls grinded their asses in my crotch.

    It was a good night.
