BBC Believes You Only Read 6 of These Books...
The BBC believes that most people will have read only 6 of the 100 books below. How many have you read?
(Tip: The average Goodreads member has read 23 out of 100 books on this list).Interestingly, the BBC never actually made this declaration. The list was created by an unknown individual and spread around the internet as a meme called The BBC Book List Challenge. It was probably loosely based on another list of books that was the result of a survey carried out in 2003 by the BBC in which three quarters of a million people voted to find the nation's best-loved novels of all time. Here's a link to that list: BBC's The Big Read - Best Loved Novels of All Time

i dunno, i think i read all the interesting ones. :dontknow: the rest look like a snoozefest and there isn't enough money in the world to get me to ever read another dickens novel.

10, with several on my imaginary To-Read List. A Confederacy of Dunces is easily my favorite.

I think it's bullshit that all the Harry Potter books only count as one. :fil:

30 out of the hundred. About half for school probably. Some of these books sound pretty arbitrary, including some of the ones I've read. Catch 22 on the same list as the davinci code? That's a stretch.

In college I was on a Dickens kick so read all of 'em which helps. And Catch 22 is my all time favorite book I've read about 3X but I guess it only counts once, eh?

He has to be the most unlikable character ever. But I was hooked as soon as he started fucking his mattress whilst thinking of his dead dog.
