On Monday's show, after the River's funeral, HS said that after Melissa asked Him to perform the eulogy he spoke to Louie CK on the phone.

Why would HS call Louie CK? On the show, Stern made it sound like they just happened to speak, and Stern made no reference to CK helping him with the eulogy prep. However, Stern has never before spoke of Louie CK as a social friend. So, I think Stern reached out to CK to ask for help. "Holy shit Louie! I don't know what I'm doing. You've got to help me write something funny!".

This is not a bad idea, why not ask some comics for help? That's all fine. But why won't Stern admit that he got help WRITING the eulogy?

Now Only Stern has gotten praise for the words he shared at the eulogy. He's taken credit for it.

What other comics did he "talk to" about Joan?

C'mon, it was a eulogy, not a Chris Rock set/movie.

I think it was on the wrap up show where they said that their was a discussion about the opening line of the eulogy regarding Joan's dry vagina and Beth didn't think it was appropriate but everyone else did. It was definitely a group writing effort by the HS staff and probably outside actual comedians.

Wasn't the opening line stolen from Joan or Gilbert anyway?

The dry vagina bit was Joan's bit, he co-opted it. Every talkshow she was going on for about a month she was spamming that line, how the water in the bathtub wooshes away because its so dry yada yada ... God bless Joan but not one of her better bits.

Anyway Howard isn't capable of an original comedic thought anymore, that much is painfully obvious. His sense of humor has atrophied by being in a yes man cocoon for the last decade not to mention having a wife with the brain of a child ..

In fact his comedic awareness is so broken that he doesn't even realize what a stream of humorless, hacky garbage Benjy constantly slides him during the show. That's bad.

Howard generated a few talking points on his own: 1) "Joan was important early on in my career, when I couldn't get guests on my show." 2) "Edgar killed himself." 3) "Johnny was a scumbag." 4) "Joan was a dear friend to the gay community."

He turned to Louis to help him "punch up his script." Louis advised Howard to give his eulogy a humorous angle, to honor Joan's memory. "Okay. Just tell me what to say, and I'll say it," Howard said. Louis confessed that he didn't really know Joan that well, and Howard said he didn't either. Louis suggested Howard email his staff for stories Joan might've told on the air, and Howard said that was a good idea. Gary and the gang took over from there.

Any funny parts were written by Louis, the boring and narcissistic parts were penned by Howwig.

When are you going to tire of this discussion? It was Joan's joke, she would have loved it. In recapping how he talked to Louie ck, he did give him credit.

I just wonder where was Louie ck? Why wasn't he at the funeral?
