I've always marveled at the amount of TV Howard and Robin watch each week, which is just unfathomable to me. It often seems like the only thing they do when they're not broadcasting is watch TV. I'd always assumed that they're very rare super-users due to their part-time jobs and minimal responsibilities in life, but then I saw this chart today in the new issue of Bloomberg Businessweek. Now I'm wondering if they're even watching as much TV as the average American does ...

How much TV does the average American watch?

    Per day
    4 hours, 55 minutes

    Per week
    1 day, 10 hours, 27 minutes

    Per month
    6 days, 5 hours, 17 minutes

    Per year
    2 months, 12 days, 15 hours, 29 minutes

    Per lifetime
    16 years, 1 month, 9 days, 1 hour, 21 minutes

Imagine how much TV we'd be watching if there was anything good on.
