75 years from now, how will the people of 2088 look back on the talent pool of music from late 20th & early 21st centuries?? ...Do you think they'll give as much much credence & appreciation to the generation that talk-rhymed over stolen beds of music, as they would the musicians that learned to play an instrument and performed their own, original music & lyrics?

hip hop/rap continues and will continue to be the dominant chart topping music, not that means it is "better" arguing music makes no sense, it's all about personal preference

The ones who do it well will be remembered. The flashes in the pan will not. Just like all the other genres.

All music is just noise to me. Never understood people who feel their life has been shaped by the music they listen to. I think those people are stupid.

You may not care for his Hippy type music, but one cant deny that he was a very talented musician..and, he ruled the music world for a number of years .... Much like I am not a fan of Lionel Ritchie or the Commodores, But I can still admire his talent as a musician.

For most people, music is the most tangible thing they have to a connection with a past memory ...Even photographs don't have the same kind of ability to draw out past emotion like music does

Annies Song was totally sappy, but was a truly beautiful song that's held up over time
