I started off really excited but it has been a drama free uneventful vanilla olympics in my opinion. That's why I think they were trying to create the water scare and Zika virus scare in the media before because they knew people don't care anymore so they were trying to create phoney drama to drum up tv ratings.

I'd give these games a 5 on a scale of 1-10 ten being the best. Without the evil Russians it really is boring
The last good games were Lake Placid

3/10. Boring. The US gymnasts, Phelps, and Ledecky were the best parts.

Not bad. I like the streaming of the off-beat events.
I do find it amusing that the biggest crime story involved a lie by the US swimmers. What a bunch of assholes.

The torch lighting was dipshittery and the design was gay.

Being back the days when a Chinese man runs along the top of a stadium or some dude shoots a flaming arrow into the cauldron to light it. Hell, even vancouvers was more exciting.

Olympics on a budget... Plus: swimming a over so there's no decent sports left.

The Olympics peaked in the 80s and have been heading down ever since. It's a made for TV event whose time has past. Anyone who really cares about these obscure sports can watch them on the internet any time they want. Nobody but the relatives of the players actually watches these sports when they aren't under the guise of an Olympic event. In certain sports like golf, an Olympic medal isn't even in the top 10 of annual achievements for a player.

It actually makes me wonder why colleges have sports like swimming, fencing, gymnastics, etc. when they don't bring in any money and they have nothing to do with getting an education.

I actually enjoyed them this year. I'd give them a solid 7.

One comment though, why do they put all of the best stuff in the first week?

This second week isn't nearly as entertaining. Example, golf. The women should have played last week, with the men closing theirs out today.

Also, all the swimming and gymnastics - I would have liked to see them all spread out better. All the games on now seem like all the B and C level games, like water polo, weightlifting and the like.

I don't think it's very smart to finish with your weaker stuff.

    Just my opinion of course.

Nbc is giving people the most drama free and vanilla Olympics that it possibly can. They don't want unintended events, off the script commentary, mishaps, drama, fighting etc.

NBC is sure to give you the most watered down version of everything it can.

Oh and Rio, is also a 5 star destination if you were to believe them.
