he sure trashed him and his morals. Said agt is a joke and he's only famous for being a judge on stupid game shows.
Will Simon fight back? Wig was brutal

It went on a little long. It was almost 30 minutes, wasn't it?

That caller was annoying, but I'm glad The Wig went after Cowell.

If the ratings go up even 1/10th of a point with Simon, expect to see "leaked" articles about how Howard was dragging the show down, was a diva who didn't get along with anyone, etc.

I could be wrong but I don't see Cowell getting into a pissing match with Howard. He's probably cut his losses and moved on--it's all about the bottom line with him, and Howard just wasn't a good fit for the show.

Howard's the one who will agonize about it forever.

Anyone with an IQ higher than Mariann from Brooklyn's can see through Howard's claims that he left AGT on his own to "explore opportunities." For years he claimed AGT execs confided in him that there were going to be changes made to build the show around him -- and in the end the only personnel change made was to get rid of him. He's humiliated, hurt and angry, and lashing out at Simon with the assumption that Simon -- like so many before him -- will not fire back. I'm wondering if Howard is so quick to kick this hornet's nest because his AGT contract forbade producers from discussing him once he left. (He had similar clauses in contracts with terrestrial radio stations.)

AGT is at fault for not doing their homework--did they even listen to the "evolved" show before they hired Howard?! They thought they were getting 1995 HS and all that entailed, and it blew up in their faces when they realized his huge, loyal fan base vanished long ago, along with any charisma he once had.

I'm just looking over the Chicago chapter in the Unauthorized Howard Stern Biography by Paul D. Colford. These are just some of the terms Howard and Buchwald insisted upon when attempting to syndicate Howard in Chicago (where he utterly flopped):

    • Long-term commitment (5 years)
    • Most of Howard's compensation paid upfront
    • No vulnerability to Arbitron ratings
    • Station can't delete or edit any announcement "whether live or pre-recorded, promoting products in which Howard Stern has an interest"
    • Station agrees to defend the show against FCC actions that may arise

Due to Howard's low ratings, the Chicago station cancelled the show after just 10 months (they claimed it was due to a fear of FCC fines). Howard and Buchwald then filed a $35 million suit against the station, citing fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract and indemnity. Buchwald boasted that Howard was going to own the station by the time they were through. (Half of those complaints were thrown out by the court.) On-air, Howard wished AIDS on the station's manager and on his family.

This was over 20 years ago -- Howard's contracts have certainly gotten even more favorable and protective since then. That's why I'm confident that Howard had a deal for at least 4 years on AGT (he always insists on long-term commitments with no vulnerability to ratings), and why I think producers may be forbidden from commenting on him, even if he constantly trashes them.

I fully agree a public pudding match is unlikely. That's why I said it would involve "leaked" stories. If there's a perception that Howard is hurting the AGT brand with his attacks there's no doubt in my mind Simon will retaliate albeit through confidential sources and leaked materials

Thank God You Always Post Here.... You are part of a handful of posters who have any intelligence. Thank you for always exposing the truth behind the long lines of bullshit that Howard Stern spews 4 hours a day for 6 days a month.
