The Wigmeister General was bitching this morning about not having enough free time, what with the 12-hour/week commitment to his primary job and the other stuff that keeps him in his self-constructed "prison." After adding up sleep & work time, I figure Wiggy has 100 of the 168 hours in a week free. How do you compare?

Does he have enough free time? Assume you sleep 49 hours/week, so you have 119 hours available for work & play, how does your "free" time compare to his 100 hours?

Any suggestions on how the Plugster can "find" time?

(And I know that the easiest comment to make is that his 12 hours of work is basically free time, too, but we have to have some standard measurement for comparing time devoted to "work").

He has 156 free hours a week, plus 26 weeks of vacation.

And America's Got Talent is 2 or 3 hours a week.

Yeah - his time off is egregious. I went of the average "working week" just because most of the world can't relate to having half the year off.

I've noticed it's always the people who attend conventions who bring out Howard's free time rants. Not people who watch 100 hours of television a week. Not people who attend Knicks games even though they have no interest in the sport. Not people who take classes to become better at calligraphy, penmanship and watercoloring. Not people who visit their therapist four days a week to discuss how to become a better scheduler. Not people who post 10 photos a day of themselves playing with kittens. Not people who write nonsensical poetry for a Jewish website.

He should give up on the "I'm jealous of their free time" schtick, and admit that he's jealous that they're not living in the closet, they're not fearing judgment, and they're not seeking counseling to try to unlike what truly makes them happy.

Heh. Between work, the wife and the kids, if I want any free time I have to set my alarm for 3 a.m. Maybe then I can finish my coffee in peace.

I hate when he says things like that. Most people work 5 days a week and have shit to do with their families on the weekends. I guess he considers helicoptering out to the Hamptons work.

Anything that takes him away from doing nothing, watching Lifetime, cats, or modge-painting is work to him

This includes his 7 figure gigs and having to travel in luxury to not work

I think Howard complaining about free time is basically him complaining that his wife is doing things without him. She saw 50 Shades without him. He also uses it for an excuse not to go out with her or do social things. He just wants to keep her someone on the property while he wastes times doodling by himself.
Her life must be so controlled by him.

You clearly don't realize that sitting in a chair for 4 hours doing interviews with b listers and throwing in the occasional meatball plug is hard work. Clearly Sirius should give him a raise and cut his hours back next contract. Who needs Rich and Sal.

I wish someone would have responded to him by saying Just quit working then, you idiot. You have hundreds of millions of $$... you can do WHATEVER you want, WHENEVER you want, WHEREVER you want.

Quit marble hogging and craving fame... then you have all the time in the world.

    Idiot.

All his appointments and meetings and all the other nonsense amounts to nothing. He's always in a rush to produce nothing.

Maybe he needs to have a sit down with Marci to draw up a plan.

Or he could dig into the archives and listen to when he put everyone to sleep lecturing Robin about getting better organized.

Way more than that. The average American watches just under 5 hours of TV a day. Bloomberg Businessweek ran this breakdown in December:

How much TV does the average American watch?

    Per day
    4 hours, 55 minutes

    Per week
    1 day, 10 hours, 27 minutes

    Per month
    6 days, 5 hours, 17 minutes

    Per year
    2 months, 12 days, 15 hours, 29 minutes

    Per lifetime
    16 years, 1 month, 9 days, 1 hour, 21 minutes

With all his free time and lack of responsibilities, Howard has to watch way more TV than the average American.

I have more than he claims to have yet I don't have time to watch a third of all the shows and movies he seems to watch. And then he paints, and does photography, and cries to Lou Reed / Metallica songs on top of that.
