America's judge is supposed to call in to his old Connecticut station tomorrow before it changes format.

"Program Director Mike Karolyi will host a five hour retrospective on Friday from 12pm to 5pm that will feature an appearance from former WCCC morning host Howard Stern. A then 25 year-old Stern hosted mornings at the station in 1979 and later brought his syndicated show to the station. Karolyi has been with the station for over 30 years.

The Hartford Courant reports that the WCCC staff were informed on Wednesday that they were out of a job as the station was being sold to a “not-for-profit organization that operates radio networks specializing in adult contemporary Christian music.”

    Wild guess how it'll go:

"Me, me, me, me, me. Me, me, and me. Oh, and did I mention, me."

I wonder if he will reminisce about how the station manager had to sit him down and talk to him about his banging of all the women who worked there?

Not for profit christian radio company. Translation, a company run by a shady church that turns over the radio profits to the church so there is no profit yet those running the church amass a fortune.

WYSP, Howard's first station to be syndicated, did the same thing on Sept 2011 when they went from a rock format to sports (Zzzzz).

On August 18, 2011, CBS Radio announced that sister station WIP would simulcast its sports talk format at 94.1 FM on September 6, thus ending music on 94.1.[7] The change actually took place on September 2, four days earlier than announced. On its final day, Howard Stern called into the station to discuss his time on WYSP with host Spike Eskin.[8] At 3:00 PM on that date, WYSP ended its music format with "Fade to Black" by Metallica as its final song.

I didn't listen again since hearing it live but remember thinking it was a decent call. Wiggy was on for a half hour.
The DJ is Spike Eskin, Howard Eskin's son. Howard is sports director at WTXF-TV "Fox 29" in Philadelphia.and an Americansports radio personality for WIP-FM 94.1/WIP-AM 610. In the mid-1980s, Eskin co-hosted with John Debella on WMMR's Morning Zoo, their combination was advertised as "Sports Rock". :hehe:

    Sad day.

    I grew up in CT.
I can still remember listening to Howard on WCCC.
No more Rock stations for the Central CT area any more.

Another reason why all churches and religious organizations should lose their tax exempt status. The religion racket rakes in hundreds of millions of dollars each year.

That is two call ins in a months time! I thought he was big enough he didn't have to stoop down to doing call ins to Jenny McCarthy's show and this one?

    Irrelevancy is a deadly disease.

So, you think he is calling into a Connecticut station for publicity?

For someone refusing to do publicity for a job that pays him "$80 mil" and "$15 mil" it is a little strange that he is willing to do these call ins.

FYI my username doesn't have anything to do with bronies. My drunk Italian uncle was bitching about "jabronies" and it came out as Jimbronie. I ran with that.
