page 6 in his contract: Sirius XM pays for the production costs.

Radio talent have contract directly with Sirius: (Artie)/Fred/Gary/Robin/Benjy. They are well payed and have the insane work schedule.

The rest of the staff that are not HowardTV staff, are payed by a show budget. They make shit money and have to work normal schedule.

Howard was right when he said that SiriusXM pocketed Artie's money. But Howard never approached Sirius about hiring someone else.
Same thing would happen if they fired Benjy. Only Sirius would make money and after the lawsuit, they would never give Howard any more show money.

Bubba was also payed by Sirius, not Howard, not Show budget.

If you read the whole contract: Howard never pays for anything. He have clause about free private jet. A class accommodation. Even Ronnie's Limo service is payed by SiriusXM. "24h limo service". Howard's hair dresser and Ralph are payed by Indemand.

The funniest thing about the contract is that Howard would get a bonus for Howard Stern generated subscribers. He never generated one single subscriber, so that is the only bonus he never got.

Signing bonus: 40-45 million. Annual Fee: 100 million. Subscriber goal bonuses: Over 300 million. A 50%+ cut in all advertising = raked in 900 million during the first five years. Poor Howard. SiriusXM really fucked you...

If that's true then how come Howard is so reluctant to give anyone a show when during the last year at K-Rock he kept saying how he was going to give everyone a show...but somehow can barely afford a token $500 and lays all the blame on Sabean? Why wouldn't he out and out blame Sirius since he has no problem doing so with things a lot less important than the programming on the two channels that carry his name?

"Our aggregate fixed obligations under the agreement are approximately $100 million per year. These costs include production and operating costs for the show, including compensation of show cast and staff, overhead, construction costs for a dedicated studio, a budget for the development of additional programming and marketing concepts, and payments to Stern and his agent."

This means that the total amount is 100M/year for everything. If Production costs are 1 dollar/year, then Howard gets $99,999,999/year.

Exactly! So, Artie came out of that $100 million budget. Odds are good that when he left, either that money was spent on someone/something else under the allotted budget for Stern or went into Howard's pocket. They agreed to a complete compensation package in 2004. When Artie left, the Stern Show still got his money until the new contract.

Now, in the new deal, they may have refused to pay for an Artie replacement, but that is a completely different deal. I am sure when Howard said he only wanted to work three days a week and get additional weeks off that Sirius slashed a lot of the things on the show budget. They are not going to give him $100 million a year in salary and show costs for at least 30-40 less shows a year (probably closer to 50).

That makes the most sense based on Howard's behavior for the past 6 years.

Also notice how he's never "gone to bat" for anyone for the past 6 years to management in order to get them more money like he did in the past with Jackie, Fred and Benjy, etc. He's not gonna go to bat against his own bank account no matter who it is.

Exactly...this is the whole point. What OP also missed is right after the part about Sirius paying production cost ( which includes salaries) there was this in the contract

Sirius will provide Howard Stern Productions, Inc. with ---- per year, payable on or before March 31st of each year commencing in the year 2006, to be used in IT"S DISCRETION, to fund HS marketing, PRODUCTION and promotional concepts

They give the money to Howard's production company in March of every year.
So I wonder who keeps what isn't spent??? Maybe Sirius got wise after the first 5 years of Howard taking from the production cost, and now if Howard does not use it on the show, they are taking it back.

What I find most astonishing is his incredulity over Sirius' actions AFTER HE FUCKING SUED THEM. What did he expect from them? :jj:

    Idiot.

There's no money in to hire Artie or a replacement....The King of All Liars strikes again.
